This year's recipients from the Tree Farm Program are Ann and Marc Davis, in recognition of their well-managed forest in Springfield and in Wilmot. The "Woods Without Gile" tree farm is tucked in next to the Gile State Forest and has been managed by the Davises for the past 20 years. in 2007, the property was protected by Ausbon Sargent with a conservation easement.
A special day of events has been planned for Saturday, October 1, 2022 to celebrate this award. Hikes will be led by county foresters, a UNH Cooperative Extension Wildlife Specialist and the forester who has worked with the Davises on this property. A chicken BBQ and pig roast will conclude the day, along with the award presentation and a raffle/auction.
See the attached flyer for all the details and for the registration form which must be submitted to the Tree Farm Program by September 16th. If you have any questions, please contact Rita Carroll at 603-224-9945 x331 or by emailing rcarroll@forestsociety.org
