The upcoming BioBlitz, organized by the Colby-Sawyer College ENV 301 Class, will be held on the Cassey Brook Preserve, a property owned by the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust. This event focuses on exploring the vernal pools and encouraging the public to engage with nature.

The primary goal of the BioBlitz is to document biodiversity that may not typically be captured on trail cameras, such as smaller organisms or plant life. It’s an opportunity to discover the hidden details of the ecosystem while fostering a deeper connection between participants and the natural environment. By involving the community in this hands-on activity, the BioBlitz aims to inspire appreciation for local wildlife and ecosystems, bringing people outdoors and encouraging environmental stewardship.
