In 1995, the Pelfor Corporation donated two easements on two parcels of land off Barrett and South Pleasant Street, which abut land owned by the New London Outing Club. The property includes a portion of the Lyon Brook Trail and preserves open space, particularly forest and wetlands, which support wildlife habit and the watershed. It also supports outdoor recreation by allowing for public trail access. The easement was granted to the Town of New London with Ausbon Sargent as backup grantee.
