Ausbon Sargent was given this property by William F. Kidder in 1988. As a condition of the state funded LCIP project to protect Spring Ledge Farm, it was then conveyed to the owners of Spring Ledge Farm subject to restrictions. The purpose of the restrictions are to maintain the property in perpetuity as open space for conservation and agricultural purposes and to protect the scenic and rural quality of the property. Spring Ledge Farm uses this small lot, which is visible to the public from Main Street, to grow farm crops.
