Sydney Lomax Crook, who gifted Clark Lookout to the Town of New London, died at the age of 91 on April 25, 2010. He was born in the Crook family home on Lake Sunapee, New London contributing to his love of both the lake and the New London area. Syd was active in a number of organizations in New London and Sunapee. In 2006, he donated four picturesque acres of land on Davis Hill to the town of New London and Ausbon Sargent that he called Clark Lookout, named after his mother. Residents and visitors to the area frequently visit Clark Lookout to enjoy the full and expansive view of Lake Sunapee seen from this spot.
