Star Lake Farm Guided Tour July 2010

80 people enjoyed a beautiful day taking a selected highlights tour of Star Lake Farm (1559 acres) off Georges Mills Road in Springfield.  Click here for more details on this recently protected property.

As we leave to get our cars this is the view east of the Star Lake barn yard.

Tour guests were able to walk through the farm yard. Here the Highland cattle and chickens share the late afternoon sun.
After the hour long tour, the first group disembarks while the next group eagerly waits to climb aboard.
Farm manager Todd Richardson shared his tour guide duties with his daughter Jessie.
Before leaving to head southeast, we look west on Number 4 School House Road.
Pierre and Todd respond to questions about the farm and the land management.

After riding through managed forest land the 5th stop is on Number 4 School House Road to view another large angus filled pasture.
Riding through the pasture the tractor stops on the rise in the middle of the field to look south toward Stryker Road.
