This year’s meeting will be held at the Grantham Town Hall and we welcome all members and friends to attend. We will hear from Board and Staff on project updates and organizational reports, a review of the NEW strategic plan, a vote on proposed bylaw changes (see below), introduction of NEW employees, and members will vote on the slate of 2026/2027 officers and trustees.
Invitations should arrive in early October. No RSVP required.
Social hour will follow with refreshments provided.
PROPOSED BYLAWS AMENDMENT – ARTICLE V – COMMITTEES
The Board of Trustees proposes the following as an amendment to Article V – Committees – of the Amended and Restated Bylaws of The Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust:
Section VII – Membership Committee is deleted.
Sections II through VI are renumbered as Sections III through VII.
A New Section II is inserted, as follows:
Section II – Governance Committee. The Governance Committee assists the Board in fulfilling the Board’s responsibility to meet high standards of governance.
These changes reflect the Board’s belief that the organization would benefit by having a stand-alone Governance Committee to review policy and recommend policy changes to the full board, as well as making recommendations on board composition.
They also reflect the fact that the work of the Membership Committee is now done by staff and the Development Committee. The Trustees recommend retiring that committee.
