2019 – The Esther Currier Wildlife Management Area-Low Plain is a Perfect Place to Host a Dragonfly Walk
With all of the water and marshland at the Esther Currier Wildlife Management Area, the dragonflies are generally abundant. This allows for a great experience for all ages as they net, observe, learn about, then release the dragonflies. See what Peter Bloch of EarthAerial Productions has captured on this drone video. 2019-A Dragonfly Walk at the Sawyer Brook Headwaters Property
Ausbon Sargent’s dragonfly walks are a great way to entertain a multi-age group which proves especially helpful in the summertime when you have a houseful of guests. Peter Bloch of EarthAerial Productions captures some highlights of this event. Turn up your volume and enjoy!
2019- The Sawyer Brook Headwaters Property in Grantham
Ausbon Sargent partnered with The Conservation Fund and the Town of Grantham to raise funds to protect the 386-acre Sawyer Brook Headwaters property in Grantham. The Brown Family’s Frazier Brook Farm Hike–2 Months after the Tornado Struck
Ausbon Sargent scheduled a hike for July 10, 2018 to highlight the beauty of the Brown family farm and the great work that the family has done on their property. It could not be predicted that on May 4, 2018 the town of Warner would be hit by a rare and powerful storm that would later be confirmed as a tornado–the largest to ever be recorded in NH. The hike still took place, but instead of the original intended message, the group could witness the devastation left behind on the farm and hear about their industrious attempts to make the most of this natural disaster. Watch Peter Bloch’s EarthAerial video of the hike.
Ride With Us on the Kearsarge Klassic Bike Randonnee
This video by Nick Czerulo gives you a great look at the roads and scenery that our riders saw as they rode their bikes through the Mt. Kearsarge/Ragged/Lake Sunapee region on the Kearsarge Klassic Bike Randonnee. 2018 marked the 7th year of this great event that was co-sponsored by Ausbon Sargent and the NH Cycling Club of Concord. The Brown Family’s Frazier Brook Farm–Storm of 2018
On the evening of May 4, 2018, a powerful storm front swept across NH. The most extensive damage was inflicted on a few properties in the town of Warner. Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust asked me to use my drone to assess the affect on two of the properties that the Trust is associated with. The Brown family’s Frazier Brook Farm and the Courser family’s Mud Pond properties had hundreds of trees that were blown over like they were matchsticks. Most of the toppled trees were full-grown pines and oaks. Nate Brown owns Frazier Brook Farm and he estimates that he will take out 3/4 million board feet of logs.
This video documents the damage. The last clip is an annotated photograph that I believe supports the notion that the damage was caused by a tornado.
All of us wish the Courser and Brown families the very best as they work to recover from the powerful forces of nature.
Soaring Ahead with The Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust
During the spring of 2017, Ausbon Sargent engaged Peter Bloch to use aerial photography to document some of our larger Ausbon Sargent properties in order to gain baseline information.
An addition to Peter’s baseline work is this special video he created for us. It provides a “birds-eye” view of many Ausbon Sargent properties that you may drive by or that have public access. It’s easy to understand why properties like these are so important to protect.
