Planned giving is a method of supporting a non-profit such as Ausbon Sargent that enables you to make a larger gift than you might make from your income. Thus, by definition, a planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning. By contrast, gifts to the annual fund or for membership dues are made from discretionary income and although they may be budgeted for, they are not considered planned.
