Dragonfly Walk at Low Plain

Tuesday, July 30, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Our popular summer dragonfly walk will be held on the Low Plain Conservation Easement in New London this year.  Andy Deegan does a wonderful job of sharing his love and his knowledge of dragonflies with participants of all ages.  This summer, Brown University biology professor, Jonathan Waage will join Andy in this session.

Dragonflies love to congregate around ponds and the Low Plain area is a perfect location for water, so it should be easy to sight, catch, observe, and release unharmed many different dragonflies. Bring your own net or borrow one of Andy's and come prepared to have fun no matter your age.

Low Plain Natural Area Driving Directions: From Exit 11 off I-89 take Route 11 travel east toward Andover for 2.3 miles. The Esther Currier Wildlife Area at the Low Plain is located on your right in New London (if you see the Wilmot town line, you just passed the Low Plain). Begin looking for signage after you have passed the turn for the Elkins Business Loop.

If you are interested in joining us, please RSVP to Kristy Heath by calling 526-6555 or
